At an early age, I took a shining to vacuums. By first grade, I owned 6 of my very own vacuums.

At that time in my life, my parent’s business was in full bloom and they needed a computer to keep up with all the income. It was an AST computer, I think. It was the most life changing purchase my parents ever got.

By the end of first grade, I had missed only three days of school.

During first grade, actually toward the end, I broke my arm by jumping off the roof onto the trampoline. About 2 months later, the cast was off. But that wasn’t the only thing that I lost. My muscles were tiny, man! I then went into second grade. I got perfect attendance during second grade. My dad rewarded my impeccable attendance by giving me $100. I bought a portable CD Player, which makes me about the first kid in the class of 2008 to own a CD Player. The hot music that I listened to at a ripe age of 7 was none other than Savage Garden.

My grandma almost died in third grade. I missed about a week of school to go see her in case she died. She didn’t, but I still got behind.

I started getting really into computers during 4th grade. Apple just released the iMac and the school bought many. They were the coolest computer money could buy. They changed the computer market forever with their never-before-seen features, such as USB and standard Ethernet.

During 5th grade, I started building websites. I experimented at Javascript and other juvenile things. Claris Home Page was THE way to build webpages.

During 6th grade, I built a website for Mrs. Rayback, and the Osmond Elementary. Up to 2006 they were still up, online, and frequently accessed, and then, after a serious district redesign (by me) they changed.

With the vast amount of information available on the Internet, I continued learning about website design and construction.

In seventh grade, I met the most influential mentor and friend I would ever have: Neil Hokanson. Neil taught me so much about web design and was probably the best friend I made during middle school. We learned about new technologies together. We’ve both moved on. I’m in high school. He’s an Instructional Technology Facilitator at North Platte School District. He frequently blogs at HIT: Hokanson’s Instructional Technology.

In eighth grade, Keith Hughes gave me TONS of extra credit to build him a cool website. I did and it was the talk of the school. In order to make it popular, we put games such as Pac-Man and Tetris on it. What made them really fun was my endeavor into the Server-Side Scripting world. It was incredible what I could do with PHP. I built high scores for the Pac-Man game and the school became terribly competitive. Pac-Man was even a game at Warrior Clan, because it was so popular.

I was done with Middle School, after several squabbles with the not-so-great vice principal who frequently suggested I needed “soul time” to find out who I was, and the honest, but difficult student council advisor. But who cared? I was on to high school.

I was a freshman. I was getting good enough at webdesign that I built a little design for SVHS and sent it to Neil Hokanson, who gave me some connections to get involved in the production of the SVHS website. I had the one design, which I called “SVHS Gangster.” But it didn’t grow. It was small. So I redesigned to the current design which can be found at svhs.lcsd2.org.

In my sophomore year, I got bradkovach.com. It was about my favorite thing I had ever bought. I entertain the world, and aggregate the best content on the internet (as well as make it all available for the firewalled suckers at school).

I’ve completed several designs for people like my church, my parent’s business, some
other businesses.

I have no idea why I was totally obsessed with vacuums. They were fun and I quite liked them. I think it might be due to my ADDICTIVE PERSONALITY.

Hi
I found your site through google while trying to help someone out to flush the printer queue.
I never expected to meet a programmer so young, but then maybe that’s because not many reveal their ages !!
Wish you all the best in your future endeavours !!
